Candidates for this position must: be available to regularly work the schedule as described, possess sound decision-making skills, have the ability to work a variety of duties at a reasonable and safe pace, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with various staff. Regular tasks will include: push mowing, weed eating, brush clearing, facility cleaning, hedge trimming, assisting with small construction projects, mulching, athletic field painting and moderate equipment maintenance. The successful candidate must: exercise good judgment, be able to follow written and oral directions and demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude as well as be mature and poised. Prior maintenance, landscaping and/or nature-oriented work experience is not required, but is strongly preferred. Candidates with those types of past experiences will more likely be considered. The Seasonal Laborer reports directly to the Parks Foreman.
Wages: Starting at $20,00 per hour
May to August | Monday-Friday | 7:00am to 3:00pm
As an added benefit, seasonal employees are entitled to 8 hours of paid time off for every 500 hours worked. While there is no guarantee for future employment, many full-time employees with Upper Dublin Township began as seasonal staff.
